PETERSFIELD CRICKET CLUB Child Protection Policy• Unless the Club has made a check with the Criminal Records Bureau then:- Adults concerned with the coaching of players on behalf of the club must self certify that they are not known to any Social Services Department as being an actual or potential risk to children and have not been disqualified of prohibited from fostering children or had their rights or powers in respect of any child vested in or assumed by a local authority or had a child ordered to be removed from their care. • Adults concerned with the activities of players on behalf of the Club must complete and certify a statement regarding criminal charges if they are related to child abuse, sexual offences, violence or drugs. • Adults concerned with the activities of players on behalf of the Club must self-certify as to sanctions imposed against them in any way for any matter relating to child abuse, sexual offences, violence or use of drugs. • Subsequent offences relating to child abuse, sexual offences, violence or drugs must be reported to the Club Welfare Officer immediately. • Failure to disclose convictions or the provision of false Information will result in the expulsion of the member from the Club. • The placing of hands on a players body should be avoided unless in the administration of first aid. Treatment to the torso should only be contemplated in an emergency situation. • Adults should avoid situations where they are alone with players (other than their own child) such as changing rooms, cars, storerooms etc. As a primary safeguard, it is advisable to request the attendance of a second responsible adult and, as secondary protection, the attendance of one or more extra players. • Any adult or players with concerns about the contravention of this Code of Conduct by any person connected with the Club should contact the Club Welfare Officer immediately. The information will be treated in the strictest confidence. • Managers and coaches must respect the rights, dignity and worth of each and every person and treat each equally within the context of the sport. • No camera camcorder or phone camera shall be used in any changing room and photographs and videos may only be taken of matches with the consent of the managers of both teams
